With such fantastic family engagement happening in our government schools nationwide, it’s the perfect time to submit an entry into our Susan Ryan Family Engagement awards. We want to recognise and promote the wonderful practices and programs in place and showcase them to the rest of Australia. Nominations close soon, so don’t miss out. Full details are below.

Our CEO, Di Giblin, and I attended the WACSSO State Conference last weekend in Perth. I sincerely congratulate WACSSO President, Pania Turner, and her team on a hugely successful, incredibly informative two days. The presentations and speakers were all on point, and the energy in the room from the P&C representatives was invigorating. The highlights were the students from Mount Pleasant Primary School, who sang for us on Day 1, and Indigo Ellis, a Noonga Nunga singer-songwriter, who performed her song “Home” to close the conference. Indigo has a huge career ahead of her.

It was also a lovely opportunity to catch up, albeit briefly, with the peak parent Presidents and other reps from the Northern Territory, and South Australia.
