Inside Out 2 is the sequel to Pixar’s hugely popular Inside Out (2015). Filled with humour and excellent visual effects, the film boasts the original cast of characters in addition to some fabulous new ones – Envy, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Anxiety. The film shows us that we cannot let emotions control us or determine who we are, and that we are not defined by single memories, but rather by a deep sense of who we believe ourselves to be. Inside Out 2 is a great family film suitable for all but the youngest of viewers and will be best enjoyed by families with children aged 9 and up, with parental guidance recommended for ages 6 to 8.
In this detailed review, we unpack some talking points for parents and their children after watching Inside Out 2, including the attitudes and behaviours, and their real-life consequences of denying who you really are in order to become what you think other people want. Read on for more.
Also this KBYG Weekly includes the review of the original Inside Out (in case you missed it last week) plus the slightly macabre 2004 film, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.
